As a recognized expert in the fire protection field, he also serves on the Technical Committees for both NFPA 20 and 24.

Mr. Vesely has been the lead engineer on projects involving wet, dry, preaction, and deluge sprinkler systems protecting a wide range of occupancies. He is also an experienced engineer for both low- and high-expansion foam, dry chemical, standpipe, fire pump, fire alarm, and clean agent extinguishing systems. His combination of construction industry experience, technical expertise, and encyclopedic-like understanding of codes and insurance carrier recommendations provide Mr. Vesely with the technical abilities needed to lead fire protection engineering work for projects of all types and sizes, having earned him the trust of clients, design and construction team members, and permitting authorities alike.

Mr. Vesely established Vesely Fire Protection to share the knowledge and experience he accrued while working in various positions throughout the fire protection industry. The first stop of his career was working for a regional fire protection contractor where he learned fire protection system design, focusing on meeting client’s needs and maximizing system operability while limiting changes during construction. Mr. Vesely then spent the next decade working as the Fire Protection Department Facilitator for Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI). In this role, he was the resident fire protection subject matter expert, overseeing system designs for projects with notable clients, such as the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Takeda, AAR Corp., UW Health, Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, and numerous universities. Additionally, he cultivated a team of fire protection engineers and led an initiative to develop a dedicated life safety program.

Mr. Vesely's most recent experience has been working as the Fire Protection Program Manager for Alliant Energy, an electric and natural gas utility company serving Iowa and Wisconsin, overseeing all fire protection and combustible dust related matters. The cumulative effect of each of his previous roles uniquely positions Mr. Vesely to simultaneously view a project from multiple perspectives, easily recognizing the impact that current decisions will have on stakeholders throughout the life of a building.
